The Cottage Apartments

A plan for a two story, six unit apartment building on a basement was filed with Land Use & Growth Management (LUGM) in August 2024. Called “The Cottage Apartments,” the 1.63 acre lot now has an existing house and garage, built in 1940, and was used more recently as four apartments and a physical therapy business. The lot is adjacent to DJ’s One Stop, between Old Village Rd and Route 5.

The nearly 8K SF building will split into five 2 bedrooms, and one 1 bedroom apartment. A total of fifteen parking spots are planned. Owned by Midbrien LLC, based in Mechanicsville, this project is under review by LUGM and other county agencies and will likely go before the Planning Commission next year.
